Road accidents in India is a major issue. The number of these accidents is increasing rapidly. Mostly the major accidents are either found on the blind turns and National Highways. Although the number of accidents significantly reduced after the installation of SmartLife poles on NH1, according to local police.
Honking unnecessarily is considered ill-mannered but its the best way to reduce the number of accidents as honking awakes the following vehicle's driver which causes awareness and the accident is avoided.
Now HP Lubricants have started a "Roads that Honk" initiative. This is a solution to the question "How to avoid accidents" ?
WHAT IT IS ACTUALLY :-
This solution uses smart poles with Radar technology that communicate with each other to alert drivers on both sides of the blind curve with the sound of the horn.
WORKING :-
The radar technology in the 1st pole reads the speed of the upcoming vehicle and communicates with the smart pole at the other end. Then the 2nd pole alerts the upcoming drivers by honking, indicating them to slow down and cross safely.

This is a very nice and innovative initiative by HP Lubricants and is supported by everyone. The official video demonstrating it has crossed 3 million views on YouTube.
